How to take a useful photo for your lighting design
A clear home photo helps you preview roofline lights and show MERRYLINE the areas you want included in your quote.
Start with the whole front of your home
Take your main photo from a safe spot on your own property. Keep the roof peaks, lower roofline, entrance, and ground level in the frame. A landscape photo usually gives you more room to show the house. Avoid cropping off the edges where you want the lights to end.
Choose daylight and a clear view
Use a daylight photo where the roof edges are easy to see. Keep your phone level and avoid strong digital zoom. If a tree or vehicle hides part of the roofline, add a note to your quote request about what is behind it. You do not need to climb onto anything to get a better angle.
Keep the photo focused on the house
Before uploading, check that the image does not include people, private documents, or details you do not want to share. The designer accepts JPEG, PNG, and WebP images up to 10 MB. You can try the sample home first to learn the controls before using your own photo.
Draw the look you have in mind
In the lighting designer, trace the roofline you would like to light and choose a color. Try a wreath or bows around the entrance, then use the before-and-after slider to compare the concept with your original photo. Keep your first design simple. It is easier to discuss a clear starting point than a layout with every possible decoration.
Send the concept with a little context
Continue to the quote form and include your town, ZIP code, and the areas you would like included. Mention parts of the property that are hard to see in the photo.
